Day 1: Agadir – Marrakech
After breakfast, your 6-day tour from Agadir to Marrakech begins. You will enjoy a guided tour of Marrakech to see the highlights of the imperial city. Your guide will take you to the Saadian Tombs and the Bahia Palace, the residence of the Grand Vizier of the Alaouite Sultan Ba Ahmed ibn Musa, dating back to the late 19th century. Afterwards, you will visit Jemaa El-Fna, the Menara and Majorelle Gardens, followed by a spice and handicraft market. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley
After breakfast, depart from your hotel. Today we travel to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou via the Tizi n’Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains. This walled city was an ancient caravan stop connecting the desert with Marrakech and served as a key stop for caravans coming from the Sahara. Next, we visit Ouarzazate, including the Atlas Studios and Taourirt Kasbah. Then we continue to the Dades Valley, passing through Skoura and its ancient kasbahs, stopping at Kalaat M’Gouna to visit the Valley of the Roses. On the way to the Dades Gorges, admire the unique rock formations. Dinner and overnight at a hotel.
Day 3: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga
The tour continues from the Dades Gorges towards the Merzouga Desert, home to some of Morocco’s tallest golden dunes. We pass through Tinghir and explore the Todra Gorges, a scenic area with a river and high red cliffs, popular with climbers. Next, we stop in Touroug for lunch, then drive through Erfoud, enjoying the views of the palm groves before arriving in Merzouga. Overnight at a hotel in Merzouga with a traditional Moroccan dinner.
Day 4: Merzouga Desert Excursion
After breakfast, begin exploring the mysterious Merzouga Desert. Travel through the dunes and visit nomadic communities living in traditional tents. We will also stop at Mifis to see how the iron mines operate. Then, visit the Gnawa village of Khamlia to meet the Gnawa people and enjoy their music. After lunch, return to the hotel and prepare for a camel ride across the dunes to the desert camp. Spend the night at the camp, enjoying traditional music with the locals.
Day 5: Merzouga – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate
Wake up early to admire the beautiful sunrise over the dunes. Return to Merzouga for a hot shower and breakfast. Continue the tour towards Rissani, where you can explore the traditional market and shop for handicrafts. Then, visit the Kasbah of Tamnougalt and the village of Agdez. Passing the Anti-Atlas mountains, we reach the Draa Valley. The final destination for the day is Ouarzazate, where you will stay overnight in a riad or hotel with views of the Atlas Mountains.
Day 6: Ouarzazate – Taroudant – Agadir
Depart Ouarzazate for Agadir, driving through a mountain pass and enjoying panoramic views. Stop in Taznakht after breakfast, a small town famous for its handmade carpets. Continue to Taliouine, known for its saffron, and enjoy a delicious lunch. Then drive to Taroudant, a fascinating Berber town often compared to Marrakech. The final stop is Agadir, where you will be taken to your hotel, concluding the 6-day tour from Agadir.
