You will visit the historic sites of Fes on our 6-day tour from Fes to Marrakech. Your journey includes the Atlas villages and the Ziz Valley. Next, you will travel to Merzouga for a camel ride. 6-Day Tour from Fes to Marrakech
The Fes portion of your 6-day tour is included on this first day. After breakfast, you will begin exploring Fes. Spend the morning with a local guide wandering through the historic Medina. Visit important cultural and historical sites such as Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque and University. You can also visit a pottery cooperative after seeing the tanneries, the Blue Gate, the Jewish Quarter (Mellah), and other landmarks. After lunch, head to the new Medina to see the Royal Palace gate, then visit the Merinid Tombs for spectacular panoramic views of Fes. Overnight in a Riad.
Depart Fes after breakfast and cross the Middle Atlas Mountains. First stop is Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its climate and architecture. Then travel to Azrou, the largest cedar forest in Morocco, where you can see and photograph wild monkeys. Continue to Midelt for lunch, then drive south through the Ziz Valley, enjoying views of palm oases. Continue to Erfoud, famous for fossils and dates, and finally arrive in Merzouga. Overnight in a Riad or hotel with meals included.
This day is dedicated to exploring Erg Chebbi. Visit Khamlia and enjoy Gnawa music. Meet nomads living in traditional tents and continue to the historic Mifis mines. Enjoy a traditional lunch (Berber pizza) in the village. In the afternoon, go on a camel trek and spend the night at the desert camp. The camel guide will make several stops for sunset photography. Finally, arrive at the camp for dinner and entertainment.
After breakfast, continue the 6-day tour from Fes to Marrakech. Visit Rissani and its large markets. Travel through palm landscapes to the Tinghir oasis and stop at the Todra Gorges, with 300-meter-high cliffs ideal for climbers. Then, visit the Dades Valley and the Roses village, including a stop at a rose product cooperative. Continue along the “Route of a Thousand Kasbahs” to Ouarzazate, famous for movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones, and visit Atlas Studios. Overnight in a hotel.
After breakfast, visit Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the oldest and most significant kasbah in Morocco, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then visit the impressive Kasbah of Telouet. Continue across the Tizi-n-Tichka mountain pass (2260 m), stopping to enjoy the Atlas Mountains views. Before arriving in Marrakech, visit an argan oil cooperative and enjoy lunch. Overnight in a Riad.
Spend the entire day in Marrakech. After breakfast, your local guide will meet you at your accommodation. Visit the Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace, and Majorelle Gardens. Explore Jemaa El Fna square, experiencing the city’s lively performers, storytellers, artists, and merchants. After visiting the main attractions, enjoy some free time to relax.
