Tour 4-day from Marrakech to desert via Ouarzazate

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Ouarzazate

After breakfast, your driver will pick you up in Marrakech to begin the 4-day excursion from Marrakech to Merzouga. We will take the Tizi-N-Tichka mountain road, which at 2,260 meters is the highest mountain pass in Morocco. There will be a stop to admire the scenery and the traditional Berber communities.

The next stop will be the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a famous filming location for movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. We will also make an additional stop in Ouarzazate, home of the Atlas Studios. Overnight stay and dinner will be included in Ouarzazate.

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Alnif – Rissani – Merzouga

After breakfast, we depart from Ouarzazate toward the Merzouga Desert. The journey passes through the Draa Valley, where you can see one of Morocco’s longest rivers. We’ll stop in Nakoub for a local lunch. Along the way, enjoy views of mountains, Berber villages, and palm groves.

Upon arrival in Merzouga, you will transfer to camels for a sunset ride through the Erg Chebbi dunes. The evening includes dinner, a night under the stars, and live local music at the desert camp.

Day 3: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

Start early to witness the sunrise over the dunes. After returning to your hotel in Merzouga for a shower and breakfast, the journey continues to Rissani, where you can visit the weekly market. Next, travel to Erfoud to visit a fossil workshop, then continue to Touroug, stopping at the palm groves for photos and lunch.

The tour then heads to the Todra Gorges in Tinghir, a stunning part of the High Atlas with towering cliffs and a river flowing through the canyon. Finally, drive to the Dades Valley, where you’ll have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

Begin the day with breathtaking views of the Dades Valley. Continue passing other kasbahs along the way. Stops include the Valley of the Roses and the palm groves of Skoura. Visit Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate, once the residence of the Glaoui family.

On the way back, return to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah for any additional stops you may want. Finally, cross the Tizi-N-Tichka mountain pass to return to Marrakech, concluding the 4-day Marrakech to Merzouga journey.
