Day 1: Casablanca – Meknes – Fez
8-Day Tour from Casablanca
On the first day of our 8-day desert tour from Casablanca, we will take a short tour of the city’s attractions. We will visit the Hassan II Mosque and then travel to Rabat. In this city, the capital of Morocco, we will have a guided tour to see landmarks such as Kasbah Oudaya, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and Hassan Tower. Next, we head to Meknes to visit several points of interest. Afterwards, we visit Volubilis before arriving in Fez, where you will stay overnight.
Day 2: Fez City Tour
After breakfast, you will begin your guided tour of Fez. Fez is a charming city with much to offer, and your local guide will take you to the most popular tourist sites. You will also stroll through the narrow alleys of the Medina and visit the Royal Palace and the Jewish Quarter. Additionally, you will see Al-Qarawiyyin, the oldest university in the world. Afterwards, you will visit the tanneries, the pottery square, and the Merinid tombs. Overnight stay in the same riad.
Day 3: Fez – Middle Atlas – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
After breakfast, we start our 8-day journey from Casablanca. We will pass through the charming town of Ifrane, known as the “Moroccan Switzerland” due to its climate and alpine-style architecture. We will also stop at the Cedar Forest to see Barbary macaques. We continue to Merzouga, crossing the Ziz Valley and its palm groves. Next, we will visit Erfoud, known for its marble oases and palm trees. Finally, we reach Merzouga for an overnight stay in a hotel or riad.
Day 4: Merzouga Desert Excursions
After breakfast, we will head into the Merzouga desert in a 4×4 vehicle. Along the way, we will pass through several Berber communities. A stop in the village of Khamlia allows you to listen to traditional Gnawa music. Next, we will follow the paths used by local nomads to learn about their simple lifestyle. We return to your hotel for rest and lunch with them. Afterwards, you will go on a camel excursion with your guide, who will lead you across the dunes to a desert camp for the night. Dinner is served with music under the stars.
Day 5: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley – Ouarzazate
To see the sunrise over the desert dunes today, you will need to wake up early. Afterwards, you return to your original destination to continue the adventure. We head to Rissani to visit one of the region’s historic markets. Next, we continue to the Todra Gorges through palm groves. The Todra offers breathtaking canyon views and steep cliffs. We then proceed to the Dades Valley, the Valley of the Roses, to visit a rose cooperative. Finally, we stop at the Amridil Kasbah and an oasis in the village of Skoura, before arriving in Ouarzazate for an overnight stay in a riad.
Day 6: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, we visit a landmark of Ouarzazate: the Atlas Studios, where you can see cinematic material. We also visit the Taourirt Kasbah before continuing to the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. Numerous blockbuster films, such as Gladiator, Cleopatra, and Game of Thrones, have been filmed here. You will have free time to stroll through the streets of the kasbah. Next, we travel to Marrakech via the Tizi-n-Tichka mountain pass in the High Atlas. Along the way, we visit small Berber settlements and an argan oil cooperative. Finally, we arrive in Marrakech for an overnight stay.
Day 7: Marrakech Day Tour
The 8-day tour from Casablanca includes a guided tour of Marrakech. You will meet a local guide and start your city tour after breakfast. Visit Jamaa El-Fna, the busiest market in North Africa, full of merchants. You will also explore several additional monuments, including the Majorelle and Menara Gardens, the Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace, the Koutoubia Minaret, and the medieval Medina. Overnight in Marrakech.
Day 8: Marrakech – Casablanca
After breakfast, we depart Marrakech and head to Casablanca, where we will visit the Hassan II Mosque before dropping you off at the airport. This concludes the 8-day tour from Casablanca.
