Explore the Middle Atlas and the fascinating dunes of Merzouga on a 4-day tour from Fez to Marrakech. This itinerary includes two nights in the desert and an exciting camel ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes.

During the journey, you will have the opportunity to discover a large part of Morocco: visit the cities of Ifrane and Azrou, and stroll through the famous Cedar Forest. Then continue to the desert to meet the nomadic families of Erg Chebbi.

The adventure concludes by crossing the High Atlas Mountains before arriving in Marrakech, where the tour ends.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Fez – Merzouga

4-Day Tour from Fez to Marrakech
The Sahara will be explored during this 4-day tour from Fez to Marrakech. The journey begins with morning pick-up from your Riad. First, we head to Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Next, we travel through Azrou to visit the Cedar Forest and observe the wild monkeys. Continue through the Atlas Mountains with a stop in Midelt before reaching the Ziz Valley for lunch. Afterwards, continue to Errachidia, Erfoud, and finally Merzouga, where you will check into your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.


Day 2: Merzouga Desert Tour

After breakfast, we explore the Merzouga Desert. First, visit the village of Khamlia to enjoy live traditional music. Then continue exploring the dunes, stopping for tea with nomads in Berber tents, where you can learn about their lifestyle and enjoy a typical Berber pizza for lunch. Later, return to the hotel to relax before a camel ride through the dunes. End the day by watching the sunset while riding across the sand, then arrive at the desert camp for an evening with local music and entertainment.


Day 3: Merzouga – Dades Valley

Wake up early to admire the sunrise and the ever-changing colors and shadows of the desert. Return to the hotel for breakfast and a shower before continuing to the Dades Valley, with stops in Rissani and Erfoud. Erfoud is famous for its fossil marble, visible in local workshops. Next, travel to the Todra Gorges via Tinjdad and Touroug. Todra is perfect for hiking and reconnecting with nature. Explore the Tinghir palm groves and see the famous rock formations called “Monkey Fingers.” Continue to the Dades Valley for dinner and overnight stay.


Day 4: Dades Valley – Marrakech

After breakfast, head to the Valley of the Roses in Kelaat M’Gouna, visiting a cooperative that produces rose products. Continue along the “Route of 100 Kasbahs” and stop at the Skoura Oasis on the way to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Morocco” thanks to the Atlas Studios. Then visit Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with magnificent mud-brick kasbahs, featured in numerous films including Lawrence of Arabia. After the visit, continue through the Atlas Mountains to Marrakech, where the tour concludes.
